I began to create furniture out of a sense of necessity--I had just lost my job, and I couldn't afford to buy anything nice. Also, I was fascinated by woodwoker shows on PBS during the day when I had nothing else to do. I admire the clean, balanced work from the Shaker and Arts and Craft influence. I don't mind that my furniture resembles work found in Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel, however my furniture is customized to fit the client's need--you can never walk into a furniture store and find an exact fit for an odd size end table, or dresser to fit in an unconvential spot. That's where I see my work fulfilling a need. The work below is only a slice of what I'm capable of producing, so please feel free to contact me with a particular need. |
